Operations Coordinator

Please note that this role is an 1099 independent contractor role with an expected 20 – 25 hours per week.

Witty Gritty is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented and solutions-focused Operations Coordinator to join our team on a short-term basis (6-month contract) with the possibility to continue or grow into a long-term position.


As the Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with the CEO and help support Witty Gritty client work and projects with responsibilities related to office and administrative management, inventory and supply coordination for projects, and overall team support.

We are looking for someone who is able to jump right in with a great deal of self-sufficiency and strategic thinking when accomplishing their duties. Our goal is to engage someone who is a team player that will collaborate and work well with guidance from our leadership team.


  • Assist with office and supply inventory management; support team members on needed supplies for events 

  • Handle light bookkeeping - ie. preparing/sending invoices, following up on vendor payments

  • Work with CEO on miscellaneous project tasks and supporting on meeting preparation 

  • Support the team with administrative tasks and requests - ie. scheduling team meetings, organizing lunch, etc. 

  • Helping with preparation of some client events and being available to work onsite at events when needed 

  • Coordinating team outings including support with Witty Gritty 15th Anniversary event/activities 

  • Taking on special projects when needed - ie. research for software platforms, business certifications, professional development opportunities for the team


  • Adept at thoughtful and empathetic relationship building 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, approachable and organized

  • Active listener with a results-oriented approach

  • Self starter with accountability and a ‘Can Do’ attitude

  • Embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in a leadership capacity


  • Minimum 3 years experience working in administrative or operations role

  • Ability to work in a team environment - both remotely and in person 

  • Understanding of project management tools and willingness to learn how to adapt and use new tools (ie. Google Drive, Slack)


This role is an 1099 independent contractor role with an expected 20-25 hours per week. Contract will run for 6-months (January - June 2023). The pay is $2,205/month plus a $200/month wellness stipend.

Project Staff

Witty Gritty has ongoing street team, distribution, and event and project-based work available. Current opportunities listed below. If you are interested, please email with an introduction, your interest, and your contact information!

Available Work:

  • STREET TEAM: Distributing postcards for community-based programs. Locations will be high-trafficked areas (many SEPTA locations). All locations will be outdoors. Each shift will include 2-4 people total. Transportation and food stipends will be provided as well. If you are interested/available, please email back with your availability.

  • MATERIAL DROP-OFF: Drop off posters/postcards to designated locations (community centers, nonprofit organizations, etc). List of locations will be provided and are all located in Philadelphia. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at $0.56/mile. You will need a car for this role. If you are interested/available, please email back with your availability.
