Community Engagement Coordinator

Witty Gritty is seeking an enthusiastic and connected Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team on a short-term basis (6-month contract) with the possibility to continue or grow into a long-term position.

 

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will have an understanding and interest in Philadelphia’s civic community and will work on projects where you will often craft content and messaging to aid in the outreach efforts of Witty Gritty and our clients. We are looking for someone who is able to jump right in with a great deal of self-sufficiency and strategic thinking when accomplishing their duties. Our goal is to engage someone who is a proactive, solutions-oriented team player that will collaborate and work well under the supervision of our Operations Team.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Foster relationships between Witty Gritty, our clients and partners, and relevant communities

  • Attend community meetings and events (as needed)

  • Provide strategic direction and insights for client projects related to community outreach - both digital and grassroots 

  • Develop materials and write copy related to project deliverables 

  • Create content promoting engagement on various platforms through story-telling, awareness, and “calls to action” 

  • Record, tag, revise CRM database and pull reports as needed

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, approachable and organized

  • Demonstrate sound judgement in a leadership capacity

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in social media engagement, content creation, copywriting, and community outreach 

  • Familiar with online social media tools - ie. MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. 

  • Experience with civic participation processes 

  • Understanding of Philadelphia’s neighborhood makeup and social impact communities 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required

 

Interested? 

This role is an 1099 independent contractor role with an expected 25-30 hours per week. Contract will run for 6-months (Feb/March - July/August 2021). The pay is $2,500/month.
